We Are Not As Divided As Our Politics Suggest..Obama or McCain??

I usually stay out of politics but I feel as if these are rare times we are living in. If you would have told me ten years ago that we would have a women and an African American man as the two leading candidates for the democratic nomination for the President of the United States I would have probably laughed in your face. As I sit here today we are on the verge of perhaps the greatest change in American politics since President Kennedy was elected in 1961.

Barack Obama represents a chance for this nation to take a turn for the better. I will not argue with the Republicans that say he isn’t as experienced as Senator McCain, he is not. But as I always say, who is really ever ready and to be the President of the United States. What this election will be about to me is the issues. Where do these candidates stand on healthcare, the war, and education just to name a few.

Does Barack Have the Chops?

obama2.jpg   I usually stay really clear of politics but I have to say this whole race is getting interesting. After his win in Iowa Barack Obama has a lot of people energized and a few folks really nervous. The prelims have moved to New Hampshire, how will he do? When Obama first announced his presidency people were saying that he would be lucky to even make it to South Carolina let alone possibly be the front runner heading there and yet here we are. To understand the somewhat implausible rise of Barack Obama you have to do nothing more than listen to him speak.

He speaks with a genuineness and honesty that has been lost in this country for sometime. A lot of people say that he isn’t experienced enough and isn’t ready to lead this country, but who ever REALLY was? We chose leaders for not just what they have done but for our belief in what they CAN do. Right now Obama looks like he has the potential to affect more positive change in this country over two terms than any other candidate, Democrat or Republican. (more…)
