I'm using Ooma and I love it. I too don't work for Ooma. I am just a happy customer, so far. I currently have 2 Vonage lines. I purchased my Ooma unit for $199 and am currently testing it. I have both of my Vonage Lines forwarded to Ooma. While I have only been using it for my business and home number for a little over two weeks, I started the porting process of my Vonage lines today. Setup only took a few minutes and I was making calls. I would highly recommend it. If you are interested, I have a running review on my site, http://rdgriffin.com.

This may have possibilities, that is, if it is reliable. I tried the magicJack, and it was a complete disappointment. They billed me $19.95 when it was advertised as having a 30-day free trial; added an unwanted second year of service; and had considerable connectivity issues. When I tried to resolve the issues it became abundantly clear that there is NO tech support. "Chat" reps are rude, completely unknowledgeable; won't answer questions, and try to play sick mind games. They eventually give a bogus Tech Support telephone number that doesn't work and tried to make it look as though I was inactive during the chat for so long that they ended the chat. Mine is going back. Seems as though they are in a race for winner of Most Incompetent telephone service. In my opinion, a real scam.

[...] Now by now most of us have heard of Voice-Over-IP ( VOIP ) phones and some of us even use them with services like Vonage and Skype. I have evaluated both services and neither was impressive enough to make me consider using either one but …[Continue Reading] [...]
