I usually stay really clear of politics but I have to say this whole race is getting interesting. After his win in Iowa Barack Obama has a lot of people energized and a few folks really nervous. The prelims have moved to New Hampshire, how will he do? When Obama first announced his presidency people were saying that he would be lucky to even make it to South Carolina let alone possibly be the front runner heading there and yet here we are. To understand the somewhat implausible rise of Barack Obama you have to do nothing more than listen to him speak.
He speaks with a genuineness and honesty that has been lost in this country for sometime. A lot of people say that he isn’t experienced enough and isn’t ready to lead this country, but who ever REALLY was? We chose leaders for not just what they have done but for our belief in what they CAN do. Right now Obama looks like he has the potential to affect more positive change in this country over two terms than any other candidate, Democrat or Republican.

On another note, even in the 21st century there are still questions as to whether an African American could be president in this country. For a large group of people that was reason enough to count Obama out. However recent events are starting to make one think that perhaps that isn’t as big a hurdle as once thought. Now I know that it is still really early and we have not really even hit the core states that are highly conservative but just maybe it could happen.
As a nation we are at a crossroads. We have a war that even those who were initially in favor of it are now saying it has dragged on too long. Rising oil prices and the collapse of the sub prime loan market has this country on an almost certain collision course with a recession. The budget deficit is at an all-time high, just north of nine trillion dollars. This country is ready for a change and personally I am not convinced that any other candidate besides Obama can give it to us.
In the end, it is still early and there is a lot of campaigning to do and votes to cast. I want to make clear that I don’t necessarily dislike the other candidates I just like Barack Obama more. Anyway, that’s what I think and now I want to know what you think. Does Barack have the Chops?
Note: I know this is a sensitive topic to a lot of people but I would appreciate if there were no derogatory or offensive comments. Thank you.

Brother, i tell you honestly, i think he’s got more chops than any of us really know. the others try to tag him with the experience thing, i think is a cheap shop cos it’s all they got.
Frankly, i like edwards and will probably vote for him in the primary, but i am pulling for Obama and will gladly get on his train when the time comes.

Sen. Obama is by far the most qualified and not to mention deserving of all the candidates. He has proven himself through his relentless work to be worthy of the Oval Office.Check out his record and then form your opinion of him and be honest and logical in your decision making process. Will it be a third term of the dishonest, manipulative Clintons? Or a man who deserves to run this torn , bewildered country.Let’s be smart this time around, Let”s vote for change. YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!
OBAMA 08
KEEP HOPE ALIVE
